Chrome and Windows 7 64-bit

I've been a big fan of using Google Chrome on Windows. The Mac beta is also coming along nicely (with the exception of how it runs Flash slowly). I've had to switch back to Firefox after switching to a Windows 7 64-bit system. Using Chrome will freeze the entire system, requiring holding down the power button to restart. After Googling (how ironic) I found this is not a new issue. Shame on Google for taking so long to resolve such a nasty bug.

  1. No problem at all here. Win7 x64 + latest Chrome.

  2. There are a lot of folks experiencing the same symptoms as mine. How about listing your configuration? I'm using Windows 7 Professional, 6GB RAM, boot drive is a SSD (which Chrome was on), 802.11G wireless card, and had the latest version of Chrome. I'd love to get it working.

  4. Windows 7 Professional? Are you using the 802.11g mini card?

  6. Are you using Google Chrome Stable, Beta or Dev channel? If your using Stable maybe try Dev as it may already have the bug fix in it. Also I'm quite exited about Blender Basics 4 that is coming soon as I've purchased Blender Basics 1,2,3 and the bonus tutorial :)

  7. Thanks Kibby for the info, I'll try the Dev version (I was using the one you'd get at the Google website, Stable I assume). I love Chrome so it is hard to give it up.

Thanks also for buying the Blender Basics series. I hope that you enjoy BB4... Ort returns for some fur, clothes and other fun :-)

  8. Yeah I also love chrome so much I've got it on my USB so I can use it when ever I'm on a different computer to mine. I don't know much about fur when it comes to Blender so it should be fun and I'm sure I'll learn a lot from it, but I would really like to know will you be using blender 2.49 or Blender 2.5 Alpha?

  9. I'm wrapping yp the series with 2.49b. The alpha of 2.5 is still missing features and not stable. I don't want to teach with it until it has the features in and they are frozen. It's no fun paying for a tutorial and having the software crashing or having changing/missing features. One of my favorite features of Blender is its stability. For tools used for professional work, I can't stand bugs/crashes (that's my big gripe with Painter). But I may do some Bits with the Blender alpha since those are free and short (so the user does not have much of a time investment an no money invested).
